  • I've been trying for a few weeks now and today Tae Min (1.5 years old) finally responded to my warm greeting with a happy smile!    As you may have read in my previous entry, since she came to Geon orphanage last month she has been quiet, to herself, hasn't smiled, and usually has the same look on her face as the picture below.  I'd always notice her staring at me playing with the other kids.  I would give her a loving smile and say her name, but she usually would continue to stand at a distance.  If I would approach her, she would turn away and run to another room and would get upset if I got too close.  She would continue watching me play with the others though.  I knew she was wondering if she could trust me.  Today was the first day I saw her come outside with the other little ones to play.  Her older brother (5 years old) took her by her hand and walked her out.  I again called her name and smiled at her... and today I got a beautiful happy smile in return.  Praise God!

Little children, especially the unloved, need to be pursued.  And they will give in to the love in time.
