Church in a Bar
A week ago my church opened our first service in King Bar, in Itaewon, Seoul. Itaewon is basically "foreigntown" for Seoul. People from all over the world live in the small area and it is right next to a huge US army base. King Bar is located between "Hooker Hill" and "Homo Hill," two roads on either side that go up the hill with transgender bars and prostitution up both roads. A huge Muslim mosque is further up the hill. It is quite a location, and we believe God has big plans for the area. We are excited! Hope you enjoy the pics!
King Bar, located above King Club
The front and the stage (this is after we rearranged the bar, aside from the pool table which we aren't permitted to move)
The bar... lack of lighting made it a bit difficult to take good pictures
The corner... lighting is one issue since its a bar, but its all good...
The entrance
With Pastor Christian, discussing the order of service before the start
Welcoming the church (I serve as a lay pastor for the church, basically leading the church plant team and overseeing things but not on staff with the church)
View of the Sunday service with some of the congregation
Brian and Diana leading worship on the mini stage
Worship
More worship... we have to wrap around the pool table a bit... seating fits 48 and we have had 40 and 39 the first two Sundays so far...
The church plant team, a wonderful family =)
God bless!

This is very cool! I've enjoyed following the plant through your updates. The bar is quite aptly named
