  • God’s Champions…

God has given me visions to claim North Korea and to take care of the fatherless across this peninsula.  It seems ridiculous to me in the natural, but God is greater and He continues to confirm the visions He has given me.  And so I’ve read books, searched the Bible, and studied other great men and women of God.  Prayer of course marks all of them.  But as for strategies, plans, and strong leadership traits… these were actually initially lacking for many of them… including the apostle Paul!  God had to keep redirecting him and even he confessed he lacked charisma compared to other leaders.  God was gracious along the way, but what truly made the most effective leaders effective was their love

Heidi Baker, director of Iris Ministries in Mozambique, has been used by God to bring sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf, ability to walk to the lame, and other amazing miracles.  She and her husband and their ministry have been able to take much of Mozambique, a war torn nation with a large Muslim population, for Christ.  While there are so many “big leaders” in the church today, she and her husband Rolland are the only ones I know who have truly taken a nation.  And what does Heidi always talk about when she speaks around the world?  Love.  Love.  Love.  She doesn’t talk about strategy or dogma or power or other things.  She always emphasizes love.  She already knows that the strategy, the wisdom, and the power needed for the tasks will follow those who honor God’s greatest and next greatest commandments.  Without love, all the strategy and wisdom and power are worthless.

Mother Teresa was often criticized for not reaching more of India.  It seems somewhat ridiculous in retrospect… who would have ever expected such a small, frail, Catholic nun being criticized for not taking more of the second biggest nation in the world?  And yet, anyone who remembers the name of Mother Teresa is immediately struck by something… selfless love.  She was the epitome of it.  She served the lepers of Calcutta so selflessly that nations and presidents and kings took note of her.  This small, frail, Catholic nun with no desire for fame and no agenda for power influenced the world.  She just loved… and the world shifted because of her.  I believe the sound of her name touches more peoples’ hearts than the names of so many other revivalists and mighty men/women of God.  She was truly God’s champion.

2011 is to be the year of intimacy.  Grant us Your heart God!  More than anything we want Your love!
