What Fun Really Is…
Usually when setting up a healing and deliverance session for someone they can be a bit tense because they know they will be opening up about things that had been hidden for most of their life. Sometimes fear or depression or other things can try and attack them leading up to the session to try and discourage them from following through. In the past I would get into serious warrior mode and try and confront the attacks head on. But I’ve found at times speaking serious or praying heavy prayers over someone only makes the situation heavier. And lately I’ve realized more and more just how pitiful the enemy’s attacks are. Healing and deliverance isn’t meant to be grim or deeply painful or scary, it’s meant to be beautiful! It’s a time when someone can experience the joy of complete trust and complete safety of the love of the other people in the session, and in turn be fully open and experience the release of guilt, shame, and other junk from the past. If there is trust, then experiencing healing and deliverance is actually a lot of fun! We are taught to dread opening up before people, but if there is trust then our mindsets need to change. It’s liberating, exciting, and fun! Without trust though, it can be scary.
Being in a relationship I’ve been learning just how fun “trials” can be. They are opportunities to prove trust and to prove love by learning how to understand each other more and make sacrifices for each other. Without trust, the trials would try to be avoided at all cost. But because trust is there, it can actually be fun! We are taught to dread trials, especially in relationships. But if there is trust, then we need to change our mindset there too. It’s fun! We have nothing to fear and our love only grows stronger!
Reading Job lately I’m reminded of this as well. Job is amazing because he didn’t know he had Jesus with him the whole time. How he survived I don’t know. But for us, we have Jesus constantly with us and interceding for us. We have nothing to fear. And so if there is nothing to fear, if there is true trust established, then we are able to have fun no matter the high or low of life. Every “trial” is just another opportunity to grow in God’s love.
